People Need Imagination

Incandescent light bulb (no labels)

I think most people would agree that imagination is important and special. However, imagination is like your teeth:  you have to take care of them or you lose them for the rest of your life. Except imagination can come back if you really, REALLY believe. Also, if you have children they can get you to believe again. Kids believe in a lot of things. They think that things like Santa, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy exist.

Inventors have to be imaginative because they can’t just think about what already exists to invent something new. Thomas Edison made the incandescent light bulb. Not because he was being realistic. A lot of people didn’t think that he was going to be able to make it. They said Edison was crazy saying that there was going to be an electric light. Thomas Edison imagined a light bulb, and it happened.

You also have imagination to be creative in art and music. When you do artwork you have to imagine a picture in your head. You can think that butterflies have beautiful wings because fairies paint them.

Sometimes adults crush kids dreams and if grownups do it early in the kids life, like when they’re 5 or 6, it makes them have to think like adults. Kids should enjoy being kids. If you crush their dreams so early, how are they going to be inventors or artists. They would lose their imagination. School tells you what everything is, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop believing.

Some people forget about their imaginations and forget that they have them and that they can be creative. Kids are happy because they have imagination. They don’t know about math and science. They have the opportunity to have their own idea about what something means. They can think about anything and not be realistic.

Have you ever slept at night and you didn’t have a dream? You have dreams but you don’t remember them sometimes. Everyone has dreams and dreams are a form of imagination. You don’t really lose your imagination, you just forget about it during the day.

Most people think about what can really happen. Imagination helps you be happy. You can’t just be thinking about the real world and how much money you have. Imagination is thinking about something that you think could happen. And you can’t invent something unless you imagine it first. You won’t want to keep trying if you can’t imagine what it will be like.

Imagination can make you happy and make you see the world in a different way. Try thinking of something you used to believe in, or maybe you still believe in it but you forgot about it. You might find you still believe in it.

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Disney Channel should have more imaginative shows because there should be more shows for kids between 7 and 10. There are some imaginative shows and some reality (it happens in real life) but most reality shows are pretty much for teenagers, and shows on Disney Jr. are too babyish for them.  Imaginative shows are better for younger kids because you don’t want your kids to grow up too fast, do you?

One imaginative show is Wizards of Waverly Place. Because they’re wizards, it makes kids believe in magic and that they can do anything. It’s a normal plot where one character does something wrong and someone tries to fix it, but the character Alex also brings in her friend Harper who finds out Alex is a wizard. So they all keep their big secret of being wizards, but Alex almost blows it sometimes. Also this show is special because it’s magic but it’s not animated. So it really makes you believe. Now it’s over, what will kids watch?

One reality show (non-imaginative) is Austin & Ally. It’s supposed to replace Wizards of Waverly Place, but all the characters are stuck up. And because they’re supposed to be nice characters, not like the bad guy, kids want to act like them, which is not really fun.

There is an age appropriate show for kids 8 and up on Disney Channel: Jessie. Jessie has little kids in it, so that age level wants to watch them. But shows like Shake It Up are for teenagers. It’s bad that it’s for teenagers because some kids, who have no appropriate shows, watch it and act like they’re teenagers.

In conclusion, Disney Channel should make more appropriate (imaginative) shows for younger kids so they don’t act like teenagers. If you don’t want kids to act like teenagers, put more shows like Jessie and Wizards of Waverly Place on TV. These are age appropriate so kids don’t end up watching teenage shows.

School Helps You More Than You Think

School helps you more than you think it does because cheating in life is like cheating on a paper in school, sooner or later you get in trouble.  School was/is teaching you life . In life you have to not be wild, not to be a bully and to be helpful and kind to others. Most people think that school is to learn subjects like math and social studies but school is more than that .  Some people don’t know the reason why people go to school .  People go to school to prepare for life as an adult , doing things by your self with only some help. Schools also make sure you are ready for  having a job. For example, if you are a cashier you have to know math so you can give people the right amount of change for the thing they bought.
